Growing up when my mom said she was making beer rocks all us kids were super exited. It was one of those once in a blue moon treats.
How to make them? It's actually super easy.
INGREDIENTS:
5 loaf package of frozen bread dough from the store thawed
2 lbs of hamburger
cheese (your choice I used either block cheddar or a Mexican blend)
taco seasoning
Cook up your hamburger and add taco seasoning. When using frozen bread dough i normally cut the loafs into 4 or 5 pieces. Smooch them down flat and add about 1/4 cup taco meat and put cheese on top. and fold it up to look like a roll, pinching it all together. Place on a greased cookie sheet far enough apart that when they rise up they have room.
Let sit on counter or do the quick rise on the bread package. Cook for 20-30 minutes @350 depending on your oven. When they are brown on top with a bread like crust they are done.
This time I made bread dough in the bread machine and used it to make beer rocks. Frozen dough rises better though. Still good but not as poofy as normal.
My family eats them with ketchup. You could do Salsa or anything else that sounds good to you.
