History Timeline for Homeschool

Today we started our hanging time line for history. We are taking index cards writing the date of important things in history and using close pin to clip them to string. I am hoping this will make Sage more interested in history, as we are learning US history right now. We get books from the library on dates we are studying and look up facts to see what happened when.

Below is a picture of the start of our timeline. Just ignore the horrid wall paper I have yet to peel and repaint!

We got this idea from Pinterest but they had it to where the parent wrote the events and there was no pictures. I write the year and Sage writes what it is about and draws a picture to go with the event.

Weekly Wrap Up 10-4

English - This week Sage got a 100% on her spelling test! She did awesome on it. Still working on learning to write better and neater.

Math - Still nasty fractions and now bar graphs.

Science - Started our Journey on Volcano's this week.

History - Finishing up the Greek Gods this week and working on American history.

Reading - Sage has been reading from her Awanas book, her bible and books from the library, plus books for history and science.

Art - We tried a craft on Pinterest found HERE. Ours didn't turn out as well as theirs! We used river rocks not sure if that's why, but Sage had fun doing it!

A field trip to Pizza hut was the highlight of her week. She loved that she got to see how pizza's are made and make her own. She also helped make dinner Thursday night. We had beer rocks.

Saturday as long as no one is sick, (Jerry has been sick all week) we are going to Home Depot where they are having a kids safety event.

Till next week..........

Pinterest

Are you on Pinterest? I know when I first tried it I didn't care for it to much. Then when I started home schooling Sage someone suggested it for ideas. Ever since then I'm addicted! I'm not on there every day but have found great recipes, home school projects, crafts and more on there! Feel free to follow me! I think it's neat to see what other people pin and some good science experiments and recipes have come from there!

Enchilada Bake

Tonight for dinner I mad enchilada bake. It was kid approved, both Sage and Pickle ate it!

I used about a pound of cooked shredded chicken, cheese and a half of can of enchilada sauce. We like La Victoria brand but you can use what ever you want even green. I mixed the chicken, 1.5 cups of cheese and the enchilada sauce in a bowl. I layered it in between 8 tortillas. You can make it as big or little as you want. I baked it 35 min at 375 then opened it up and put a cup of cheese on top, we like cheese. Let the cheese melt and served it with sour cream.
