Molting Hermit Crab

The other day I thought one of Sage's hermit crabs was dying! Turns out Cookie was just molting. He almost ended up in the freezer for future burial. But I touched it and it moved. So I put it back it's home and a few hours later it molted. First picture is after it molted, second picture is the molted part which I took out, then read that they eat it! For vitamins and mineral, helps them stay strong. The last one is a picture of the hermit crab after it molted.

I read that they stay soft for a few days till they get their muscles strong. And so we are still waiting for Cookie to get up and get walking, but at least he's still alive and not a near miss anymore!
